PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
What a
difference a year can make. With the completion of Phase 1 of the Big Spruce
Downtown Revitalization and the progression of Phase II the City of Kenora and
Kenora businesses are entering into an exciting modern era.
I am
excited to serve a second term with the most intelligent and enthusiastic Board
of Directors that Kenora has to offer. With a successful 2008 behind us the
Kenora & District Chamber of Commerce will continue to support our members
of the business community and the City of Kenora. We strive to fulfill our
mission statement and to build on our past successes and new initiatives to
better serve the membership. I would like to thank the Chamber members for their
continuing support in the community.
It is with
great pride that we present you with the 2009 Business Directory proudly
boasting the nearly 200 businesses that support and drive the business of the
Chamber. The Chamber Executive and Directors hope this proves to be a valuable
tool for you to use, and keeping with our motto of ‘members helping members’, we
encourage you to support you fellow business people!
To our
visitors - “welcome” - our area and our chamber members have much to offer and
we will endeavour to make your stay a pleasant experience. We are proud of this
area and the quality of life it presents.
The Chamber
of Commerce and its members have much to offer, and the strength of the
organization lies in the strong support you have shown. It is our role to be
your voice and to that end we welcome your input anytime. I wish to thank the
business community members for supporting our Chamber and its predecessors for
over 100 years. It is this continued support that will keep us strong and ensure
that you have representation at local government levels and to the Provincial
and Federal Governments through our affiliation with the Northern Ontario
Associated Chambers of Commerce (NOACC) and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce
(OCC).
On behalf
of the 2009 Board of Directors, we wish you a successful 2009 and
beyond!
Dwayne
Yaremko
