Kenora Chamber Hosts 2026 All Candidates Forum

The KDCC wishes to thank everyone who came out and tuned in to our All Candidates Meet & Greet at the Clarion Lakeside Inn on October 6th. The evening was a great opportunity for our community to hear from the candidates and take part in an important evening of civic engagement.

The evening began with opening words and a land acknowledgement from host Mark Labelle and KDCC President Tim Gosnell, before each candidate was given up to 5 minutes to speak on their background, why they’re running, and the goals they’d like to see accomplished by the next set of Council. Afterwards, the public had the opportunity to sit down and speak with candidates one-on-one and dive deeper into their policies.

“Events like this are an important part of keeping our community informed and engaged,” said Gosnell. “We were pleased to provide an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about the issues that matter to our community. I’d like to thank everyone who participated, attended, and helped make the evening a success,” he adds.

The KDCC sends a big thank you to all of the candidates who participated, our host Mark Labelle, City of Kenora Deputy CAO Heather Pihulak, the Clarion Lakeside Inn staff, KDCC Directors, and KDCC volunteer Xavier for helping make the evening possible.

Kenora’s Municipal Election takes place on October 26th, with Advance Polling opening on October 13th. Six candidates will be elected to Council, joining incumbent and unopposed Mayor Andrew Poirier returning to the role. Current councillor and candidate Bob Bernie was not able to make the evening’s events.
