Big Crowds, Local Business, and Community Spirit Highlight Home Show Weekend
The Kenora & District Chamber of Commerce’s 38th Annual Home & Leisure Show welcomed more than 1,500 community members to the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre from May 22 to 24 for a successful weekend celebrating local businesses, home improvement, and community connections.
This year’s show featured more than 60 vendors from across Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, showcasing products, services, and expertise for homeowners, cottage owners, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Each year, the three-day event brings together trusted local businesses and knowledgeable professionals to help homeowners and cottage owners care for, improve, and enjoy their space. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of exhibitors, connect directly with local businesses, and take part in prizes and giveaways throughout the weekend.
Due to ice remaining in the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre longer than usual this spring, the Home & Leisure Show was held on new dates this year. Despite a rainy Saturday, strong attendance throughout the weekend helped make the event another success, with warm weather on Friday and Sunday encouraging community members to come out and take in the show.
“The Home & Leisure Show continues to be one of the Chamber’s most important annual events because it brings together so many incredible businesses, organizations, and community members in one place,” said Kenora & District Chamber of Commerce President Tim Gosnell.
“It’s great to see people making connections, supporting local businesses, and discovering the many services and opportunities available throughout our region. The energy and support we saw all weekend truly highlight the strength of our business community,” he added.
The Kenora & District Chamber of Commerce extends a sincere thank you to the sponsors, volunteers, KDCC Board of Directors, Home Show Committee, Best Way Rentals staff and leadership, City of Kenora staff, vendors and exhibitors, and the community members who continue to support the Home & Leisure Show each year.
The Chamber looks forward to welcoming the community back again next year for another exciting weekend celebrating local business and community spirit!
